In the second quarter of 2021, the air travel app landscape in Oceania on the iOS platform witnessed notable trends. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Virgin Australia entertainment maintained a steady trajectory in weekly downloads, ranging from approximately 3.9K to 5.9K. The app's weekly active users fluctuated between 17.7K and 21.7K, showing a slight increase towards the end of the quarter.

Qantas Airways also experienced consistent download numbers, with figures hovering between 3.9K and 5.2K weekly. Active users displayed a similar pattern, remaining relatively stable throughout the quarter, peaking at around 27.9K.

Virgin Australia saw weekly downloads fluctuate between 2.6K and 4.1K. The app's active user base remained fairly constant, ranging from 10.5K to 11.9K.

Jetstar experienced a downward trend in downloads, starting at 4K and dropping to approximately 2.2K by the end of June. Its weekly active users showed a similar decline, from about 6K to 4.4K.

Lastly, Air NZ showed a steady increase in downloads, beginning at 2.4K and reaching up to 3.1K. Active users also increased from 6.4K to 7.8K, reflecting a growing engagement with the app.
